Pattern of Life

Recently I went to Ikea and got the greatest pattern pillow. It is a leaf/branch pattern that is black and white. So it got me thinking why can't I add more pattern to my life. All patterns added to a room should coordinate not detach from the attention. Also if you want to add it to your life, counterbalance it with a a complementary color.
